Starting something new is always tough, it can put you outside of your comfort zone and push you to motivate yourself. I know for myself I struggle in new environments, at first there is a sense of nervousness and also awkwardness, but once you take the leap and jump out of my comfort zone it helps you motivate yourself to keep moving forward.

I remember my first day of beauty school, the night before I couldn't sleep because of how nervous I was to be starting something new and wondering if everything I had been dreaming for was going to go the way I had it planned out in my head. I woke up and started to get dressed and panicked, so i turned on some worship music and took a moment to step back and realize how exciting it would be vs how nervous I was and started to just focus on what was necessary. I remember getting to class and having what felt like a bunch of girls staring at me because I was "the newbie" and it was so awkward, then i went to my classroom and sat in my seat and the other new girls showed up. The first couple minutes before the teacher was there was so awkward, we sat there in silence and just looked at each other, then i got out of my comfort zone and introduced myself, they introduced themselves and everything suddenly became not awkward. We suddenly saw in each other that we were all there for the same reason and we all had a common interest to bond over. Then we spent everyday with each other for the next several months and I can say that because of that first day and us bonding over something so small we quickly all became best friends. Those girls are all girls that I can look up to in the hair world and also the real life world. We all share common interest that we help each other grow with and that brings me motivation that no matter what I have that support behind me.

When starting something new these are the key points that I would take away from this

*Step out of your comfort (even if that means just saying a simple "hi" to someone)

*Embrace the awkwardness (take it as a learning experience for future situations)

*Pray for peace (ask God for guidance and peace in this new adventure you're about to take)

And last of all remember that you are always going to have new starts with everything, take time to reflect on what you were taught from the last fresh start.
